The kicker
As I mentioned yesterday, Liz's Grandma Polly passed away in Brunswick, Maine on Monday. Liz didn't go into work Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, but today she stopped in to check-in and to print a few things for the little service we planned for this afternoon in Dubai.

In our mailbox at work was a letter from Grandma Polly.

Holy shit.

She mailed the note on September 10th, a thank you for a photo album of wedding photos we gave her this summer. She said she'd see us this summer, "and beyond".

Huh.

I know the term is overused today, mostly the fault of the 80's, but there isn't a better way to say it. That is awesome. I think that would be a nice thing to have being so far from home. The Nguyen's send their thoughts and hugs.

That's pretty cool, though. To have something so recent from her and to know that she was specifically thinking of the two of you and happy times together.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I read the articles about her, she seemed like and amazing woman, and I see that Liz's drive, determination and desire are genetic :)
